Osaka and Kyoto are very crowded normally. World fair will make it double or triple the normal amount. I was just recently in Kyoto during the weekday and it was a mad house. Great price tho.

I paid double a year ago, this is a steal. Train ride away from everything. By far the greatest place I've ever visited

I would avoid Aug and Sept it'll be hot. I've been in the shoulder months a few times and November was a really nice time to go.

If I decide to go. I hope I don't run into any nuisance streamers. They are all flocking to Japan for some reason. Besides that It is an awesome country to visit anytime of the year.
