These sound absolutely amazing but isn't there a class action lawsuit against them for an app update/firmware update making older ones suck?

Nope. No lawsuit. I had some of the old stuff. You just use the old app. New stuff new app. The antiquated fifteen year old smart speakers won't work with the new speakers. The price of progress in the smart speaker field with Dolby Atmos and what not.
