FYI less freezer burn without the frost free option. I have both and always store meat in the standard and veggies in the frost free since the frost free causes freezer burn quicker.

🫡 happy to help. If it comes with a dent or two, don't return it. Call the number on the card located inside for a check to keep the unit. Unless it's affecting the unit's cooling, keep it and get $$ for minor cosmetic imperfections.

Unplug unit, open door, remove stuff probably, leave drain plug off. Dry interior probably when done.

I've got the 7 cu ft version. Couple things to note. One, these aren't made by Frigidaire, they're made by a company called Curtis [curtisint.com] that licenses the name. And two, the packing on these things is crap, and there's a strong chance it'll be dented in shipping. Other than that, it's fine.

Definitely expect dents. The metal is very flimsy and it's packed in cereal-box-thin cardboard with an 1/8th inch of styrofoam inside. Bought mine expecting dents and was not disappointed. Performs well otherwise for the price. If I had more space I'd have gotten the 7cu.ft. unit though, as it fills up fast.

Are these getting more efficient? Why the hell were the 7.2 cu ft ones $124.99 12 years ago? [See attached invoice image I dug out of my email from 12 years ago]

EDIT: I guess that's pre-covid, so, adjusting for inflation, tariffs, musk tax, import tax, project 2025enomics... that's $171.51 today. Nvm, its a decent deal.

so more freezer burn with frost free so veggies (high water content) stored in FF will be need to be eaten sooner than meats

Can you list the number? My freezer is dented and I don't see a card with that number

Do you have the manual? It should be on the first page. The number I have is for Arctic (Midea).

It is a chest freezer as well as the ones at costco. I don't think there's a significant difference between standard chest freezers.

....You can look back 10-15 years at nearly any point in modern history and most things will cost less. You could do the same pre-covid.
