Don't see the N rating for these, highly likely they are N35 or worse.

Helpful info thanks, what glue do you use to secure them to your prints?
I tried using similar magnets and found them far too weak. I'm not gluing them, but embedding them inside to model. Add a cavity sized for the magnet and add a pause to the sliced model before it adds the first layer over the opening. Insert magnet(s) and let it continue.

I bought a large variety of individual magnets from kjmagnetics.com to test. Obviously, bigger is better. I haven't had the need to order more of any one particular size, but the 3/8" round or 3/8" square by 1/8" are pretty good with a .4mm layer below them.

Depending on your needs, you may want to verify N-rating. I have used N52 and they are super strong per size/surface area.

Depends on your taste buds I guess? I'm sure these taste like China like most of them.

Doesn't beat a half can of beer lofted out the window and over the top. My favorite when going thru Atlanta.

So youre saying that this magnet on this deal is not good for 3d print applications?

The 500 set is 23.6 cm3 of magnets whereas the 259 pieces is only 16.72 cm3. I had Claude.ai do the math for me.
I really don't think area covered is the way anyone would evaluate a purchase for these. There's multiple sizes and circles don't butt up to one another. Your math is lacking details on gaps that would be apparent if you cared about largest area covered. Not to mention you're going 3D and not just evaluating surface area coverage.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but cheap disc magnets (like these) are generally only magnetic on the outer edges. If you need the whole magnet to be... magnetic, then you need to look at diametric magnets, which are significantly more expensive.

Just FYI. Good chance you don't care about this, but for some projects I need things to not be attracted to the outer edges. I still use these, but I also treasure the "disposable" christmas light magnets that our business pays for every year when the light hangers install new ones.

Huh? Of course I'm evaluating volume, that's what the person I was replying to asked. Comparing surface coverage wouldn't be useful considering the magnets are of different thickness. It's all about how much volume of product you're getting.

90% of the people that get these are going to say 'Wow! I did not think they would be so small'
And then 90%of those people will 1-star them on Amazon for being the exact size they're described as being.
