I bought this desk last July and have had no issues. I use it 7 days for work and side projects so I did some research first and was hesitant because many people said that the two piece top was an issue with the seam in the middle. I have not had the problem writing or using my mouse. My only thing with this desk is the wires, they're everywhere when raising and lowering. I highly suggest purchasing some stick-on wire organizers and perhaps a metal basket to attach to the underside to hold a power strip. I was in a hurry so I just used zip ties. Also my monitor (27" Mac) is heavy, my laptop stand is heavy and I have had zero issues adjusting the desk height which I do multiple time daily as well.

I tend to think if people quite buying junk things would get better.

Wow, yeah that March 2020 purchase I made isn't standing up well to current deals...

The adjustable desk I purchased is rated for more weight (160kg), so it was easy to pull the top off the desk I was retiring and attach it to the adjustable legs so I have the full 30x66 work surface and don't miss any space. Just an option if your desktop is lighter or perhaps shop for one that supports more weight.

I also put the drawers from the old desk on the floor outside the legs. When it's lowered, it almost looks like my old desk :-) I still have plans to add a drawer one of these days...

That said, having the ability to stand up for a portion of the day has been way better for my joints/muscles. You may want a anti-fatigue mat, too.

I have this, it holds my monitor (30" on desk mount rotating arm), my keyboard and mouse, my speakers.

It's a little wiggly, as in not beefy, but it does everything I need it to do.

Does this desk have two motors, or only one?

I had similar issue. The adhesive they provided for the ac cord didn't stay on. Definitely recommend getting an under desk storage rack. I got 2 and it really helps with cable clutter. Also got a monitor mount to give me a little more space. Overall no major complaints about it. I am space limited but if I wasn't I would opt for a slightly wider one. I have a 34" ultra wide monitor mounted to the desk, keyboard mouse, laptop on a stand on the top.

A doctor I work with got one this small for their 4 monitor setup for Radiology. He got 2x monitor arms that clamp to the side of the desk. Two monitors rest on the desk in portrait orientation and landscape on the two side monitors.

Max weight it can hold is 42 lbs??? My desktop computer weighs about that much.
42 lb computer? Even in the 90's, they didn't weigh that much. Those PC cases could be used to rest the Space shuttle on for maintenance.

Is the metal cross bracket at the top good enough to make it stable? Or has anyone added a wood cross brace?

You can leave the desktop on the floor and get long wires.
If you put your desktop on the floor, it will start "vacuuming" all the dust inside. If you don't clean the inside of the desktop every few months, it could turn into a fire hazard. Best pet is to put a table next to the desk where you can rest it on, where it could stay elevated from the floor and off this weak desk.

The motor has the weight limit. Stability is more than likely ok as long as you stay under that weight limit.

Two-piece instead of Whole Piece makes it not worth it to try. If I was in college, I might deal with the seam on a 28" deep options, since it is a great price!

Got mine today, but have to return it. Arrived with broken out box and got a crack in the middle of the two pieces, unacceptable damage at the surface. So, while opened the box, checked with other parts. The legs are smaller than Flexispot's cheapest EN1, still fine with the thickness of the metal, but the motor looks like a bit small and cheap, this maybe why it can only hold 100 lb.
