You are thinking of miyoo flip. Hinges were solid on both v1 and v2 on these.

The main change from v1 to v2 was little bits of felt on the buttons so they were less loud and a shield on the battery.

This thing is awesome for the money. Anyone buying one get yourself a decent memory card, the stock ones r garbage. A few minutes on google will get u any game u want and it handles up to PS1 games.

How are these allowed to be sold in the USA? These are supposed to be illegal.
How are they illegal? Now, being they come packed with "roms," that part is questionable but for the most part the major publishers seemed to have turned a blind eye to these systems, probably because there is little overlap between people buying a $20 copy of Super Mario World on the Switch 2 and another (or even the same person) buying a retro handheld.

FWIW, I bought a RG 34XXSP, 3:2 screen version with analogs, a few weeks ago and have been exceedingly pleased. The analogs to me are a must have, even with many D pad only games I think the analogs control better. The 3:2 screen is odd unless you want to play mostly GBA but I end up stretching the screen slightly just so normal 4:3 takes up the entire LCD (I'm not a 'pixel perfect' purist who cares if Mario is a littler fatter....than he already was). I'd still prefer a 4:3 screen and probably will buy one when something with a better CPU comes along at this price point and formfactor.

That's more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. The 34 has a better screen for GBA but a worse one for pretty much everything else. It also has the little sticks but the screen is worse for any games where you'd want them, so they seem like a weird choice. Personally I have the 35XXSP and would choose it again over the 34 because I like that the screen is better for other games and I don't like the look of sticks on these things.

Some are included, likely none you'd want. You need to do your own research off SD on how to acquire games.

People online keep saying they're garbage, but years later none of mine have gone bad.

I think so, the following is copied / pasted from another one of my comments and note I am echoing some of the same things as the other person who replied to you about the 3:2 screen if that is a concern. However I think saying no to the analogs because they 'look' a certain way might be a bit shortsighted in terms of pure function (plus they look fine IMO).
