The thing is, you have to search through hundreds of coupons in the app. If I am paying for a membership, why do they make me work? Costco and Sam's club just give you the sale prices. Also bjs regular prices are much higher than the other 2 warehouse stores. Bjs is also the only retailer that charges sales tax on the regular price, not the discounted price. I sign up for BJ's for the $20 membership and use it for the deli, gas and occasional items since they are the closest to me. Otherwise I get everything else at Sam's club or Costco.

If you spend $150+ in a single purchase you also get 40¢ off a gallon of gas through 3/17.

I also had a $15 off my purchase coupon in the app.

Can the $20/$40 off coupons be used on gift cards?

Can the $20/$40 off coupons be used online or only in the warehouse?

They're actually better They have their own coupons.. Here's an example yesterday I was in BJ's They had 18 count Greek yogurt for $12.98 They had two $2.25 off coupons in the app that's almost $5 off. Costco and Sam's through yogurt for the same thing was higher with no coupons. These coupons are free in the app. I'm a member of all three of the warehouse The most expensive is Costco, Sam's club will usually have the same item as BJ's but a penny less, BJ's in Sam's club do have items on sale but BJ's with the built-in coupons in the app sometimes much cheaper. But if you like red pepper hummus like my wife does it's only $4.49 at Sam's BJ's is like 6 to $9. But BJ's usually has good deals on chips for that hummus. . Where I live there's a BJ's and a Sam's in 5 mi either direction of my home and within 15 miles there's probably 10 Sam's clubs and five BJ's and three Costco's so they're all over the place. Only bought Costco membership because they had a $20 off coupon and I was buying something online around the holidays that was $30 off a gift card and I couldn't buy it anywhere else and I bought multiples of them so it already paid for itself. Costco I bought many things online from them

Does anyone know why they don't open a store here in the San Francisco Bay Area? I think the closest one is like in Concord, California which is not really in the Bay Area.

It depends on the item and whether it is on sale and if you use the coupon. They do have self-checkout in the app that reminds you to digitally clip the coupon. They also have a deli and a slightly different selection and some items are smaller size (e.g. sour cream comes in 2LBs vs 3LBs in Costco). I find many items that are on sale in one store at the moment are not on sale at the other and then next period they switch. I also find their clothes, shoes, and store brand items to be of lesser quality than you would find at Costco. For example, their store brand Half & Half has gellan gum, disodium phosphate, and sodium citrate whereas most half & half's are just cream and milk. It also costs the same as Land of Lakes at Costco. Their milk is 75¢ more per gallon than Costco. Their onions are 3LBs for $2.39 while Costco is 5lbs for $3.79. Their mini cucumbers are 8 for $2.29 while Costco is organic only and $5.99 for 1.5lbs.

Make sure to use the reward before it expires. Mine expired in 30 days and I didn't know until I went to use it around 5 weeks after getting the membership.

Good deal. Our membership expires this month. I am currently the associate member in my family. Last year I was the primary member. We join every year by alternating our memberships. So I just signed up as a new primary member, same name and address & just use the Gmail trick (adding a "period" after one of the letters) as a new email address so there's no issues. I also used a different credit card than the one on file with them. Will switch these back after the old membership expires & repeat again next year. Membership went through no problems & they had a $10 off any purchase coupon in the app. Will have no problem spending the required amount for the reward back. Thanks OP.

I still miss the offer from a few years back. Getting $60 back in rewards @ $10 a month. Those were the days.

BJ's most of the time is a lot less money and no you don't have to search for a coupon If you see something you want to buy I scan it in the app and it shows me if there's a coupon or not. I saved 4.50 off this yogurt I got the yogurt 18 count for $8.50. I could look in the app Sam's club right now and it's likely $13-14 with no discount. Same with Costco. I have all three. Just yesterday I was in Sam's club and literally a half a mile away there's a BJ's

Bjs is not cheaper. For example 35 cans of coke is $19.99 at BJ's, $17.78 at sams, Marie calendar pot pies $14.99 at BJ's, $12.99 at Sams. I am comparing regular prices, not sale or as in bjs case, coupon price. You need to compare regular prices, sams and Costco kick bjs butt.
