No coupon for me. Must've used it on the pickle ketchup. Seems like an acceptable tradeoff!

One of the worst inventions of all time is the squeeze bottle for relish. Who came up with and developed such a terrible design?

You go to squirt out relish and instead you get one tablespoon of relish liquid instead. Then you shake the bottle down to attempt it again and out comes another round of liquid. Just give me a jar with relish in it. It was always the right container for relish.

People who have a hard time opening regular relish jars.
I accidentally cut the tendons in my thumb as a kid. It healed, but I have as little grip as a Chinese tire sold at Walmart.
Pro tip - For jars torqued to 1 million ft/lbs, you can often stick a butter knife in the lid to break the seal, making it easier to open. No idea if that affects the longevity, though.

If I had trouble opening jars I'd simply get a jar opener. Maybe that's just me though. They have cheap manual ones that add extra torque or if you had no strength left at all there are fully automated openers.

This is extremely cancerous, I recommend discarding the bottle and only eating the green stuff inside.

Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Polysorbste 80. I don't recall any food that contains all three preservatives. They really want to make sure this relish will last 100 years.

Good to know. I'm not that weak - at least yet.

Fortunately, most jars don't require Herculean amounts of strength to open. From my experience, it has just been relish and pickles. Before the "butter knife to break the seal" trick, I would use plumber pliers. I tried the "run it under hot water" trick, but it never worked for me. It just made trying to open it uncomfortable, and the pickles/relish hot.

I honestly don't understand why they still do it this way. Unlike a plastic/rubber seal, once the metal seal is broken, the shelf life starts decreasing exponentially, as you cannot re-seal it. And sealed aluminum mounted to glass has to cost more than a resealable plastic container in 2025.
