I prefer the image of the 4 over the 5. The new camera has HDR that makes the image look artificial and you can't turn it off. You can see examples all over YouTube.

This or the DJI osmo 4 bundle from Costco for $200? I'm thinking the Costco bundle for casual use
This osmo5 bundle over Costco's osmo4 IMO.
TLDR: accessories offset the cost difference, better battery life, and FOV boost lens compatibility. Built in storage for "oh crap" moments.
I purchased both this and the Costco deal about one month ago : the osmo4 was returned. The extra batteries and charger are roughly the cost difference. The battery life on the osmo5 is also much improved. It isn't just the larger capacity: If you buy larger capacity batteries and use the in the osmo4, you still won't get better battery life in the osmo4. I'm moving from the gopro+maxLens camp and to even come close to the maxLens FOV you must have the osmo5 in order to use the FOV boost lens. Finally: while I've yet to use it, having built in storage for emergencies is a small bonus.
Man I can't decide. But my Gopro 11 is on its last legs.... I feel like either I buy this or I end up waiting for the Action 6.... which might come out soon

I've had every GoPro since the hero 6. The 12 was my last model. I made the switch to the DJI osmo5 pro. Hands down, much better in the cold. Last year, I was snowboarding in vail and my go pro with the new enduro battery would shut off after a few minutes of use, due to the cold. This year, my osmo5 would last the whole day with 1 battery. I was recording at 4k 30 RS. That alone sold me on it.

I really want the Insta360 Action Pro 2 since I had Pro 1 but lost it on a trip. I have experience with Pro and liked the phone app. I was able to hand the camera over the end of the safari vehicle and use the phone app to control it and tell me if I was pointed in the right direction. Does the DJI do this as well?

I don't like the color science in DJI action cameras. I much prefer gopro colors.

Yes DJI has live preview on the mobile app, but I'm not sure how far it would work.
