I've also paid much more for the i7r many years ago.
I do wish they make the exact same form factor but brighter or selectable brightness. I love the magnetic tail cap action.
I'm compelled to agree… essentially with all parties, including the commenter here with the unpopular opinion, which from a dispassionate observer perspective is more a debate of semantics than of the merits of the product or slickness of its price reduction.
Yes, of course EDC is an unambiguously objective acronym for "Every Day Carry", and I don't think that was being disputed by any party, although the downvoted comment/individual's phrasing was suboptimal in expressing that, and as such inadvertently garnered disagreement and pushback.
I think (meaning this is speculation) their intent was to articulate the negative aspects/attributes of the product (poor battery life), and provide an anecdotal real-world circumstance in which that deficiency became a dealbreaker for them, as a means of helping others to better assess the product and whether it might also be a dealbreaker for them. In that reading they are contributing meaningful insight relevant to the product/discussion.
For them, the "EDC" distinction is not warranted or applicable (either as a marketing enticement or as a sub-category within that product's corresponding market) solely on the basis of any reductions in it's dimensions or weight, but rather for items which maintain (or exceed) the utility and efficiency of any less compact competitors, or those for which any reduction in performance is minimal, and thus offset by the benefits gained in portability, durability, &/or convenience. To offer an unsolicited rephrasing, they might articulate that notion more effectively thusly: "EDC can't just be that something is smaller or lighter, but that it is both of those while also performing more or less as well as other options"
Because the number of items that any one person can comfortably and efficiently "carry every day" is inherently finite and even scarce, any item that cannot reliably perform for the full duration of the task is unworthy of "carrying every day".

Lol I just have one of these tiny flashlight that you put onto your key. Solely use it to find the keyhole in the dark while still able to use the key, all in one hand.
I think they sell sleeves too if you don't want to use the sticker that comes with it
