I bought one last time. Great bike. I made a video about it!

I have this bike and it is a solid buy. I bought it last time for similar price. Plenty of power and speed for my wife. I like the removable battery! The controller is your typical cheap Chinese controller, don't expect extremely smooth acceleration or great pedal speed assist like on the higher end bikes. You can adjust some of the settings if you know what you are doing in the controller.

Once you get in the programming menu it is similar to the 'Lectric controller:

P01 1-3 Screen brightness
P02 1 0=km 1=miles
P03 48V battery size
P04 10 sleep timer
P05 1 Number of gears
P06 22 Tire size (Older bikes came 20 and was changed to correct speedo)
P07 1 Magnetic poles. HIGHER IS SLOWER
P08 30 Stock 45+ To unlock PAS speed limit
P09 0 Throttle on=0 Throttle off= 1
P10 2 0=PAS only, 1= throttle only, 2 both working
P11 3 PAS sensitivity
P12 1 PAS strength
P13 12 PAS Sensor type
P14 18 Current limit
P15 40-41.5V Low power limit
P16 0 Hold up to clear Odo to zero
P17 0 auto cruise control.
P18 100% Speed indication ratio
P19 0 Gear
P20 0 Communication protocol

What is it with the fat tire bikes? Who goes and thinks, what I really need is heavier wheels? And a crap folding mechanism on a bike bike that weighs 65 lbs is a good way to smash your fingers... still, $500 is pretty good.

I plan to always use it on paved roads. Would you recommend sliming tires on this bike anyway?

I recommend using flat out, it has done better in testing and lasts longer.

YGTBFKM. You're not getting on a plane with this and, even if you could, it might be cheaper to simply purchase a second bike and have it delivered to your destination.shake head

I bought two of these a few years ago. These are very solid bikes for the money. You can ignore the haters. This isn't a Porsche bike it does the job and great entry to e-bikes. Goes up to 28mph with my 200 pounds.

I don't fold it though and use a bike rack, this thing is pretty heavy and folding it is pretty cumbersome. If you can't charge it without folding I'd consider something with removable battery for convenience purposes.

13 year old son wants one, is this a good deal?
Make sure he is super careful going through Intersections because people aren't paying attention and if you are zooming at full speed nobody will have enough time to react. I've been almost hit several times so now I slow down to under 5 mph entering intersections. The added speed of these types of bikes most people aren't used which makes them more dangerous.

Great bikes. Worth the price. Bought two. Using it for past two years with issues. Folding is not big of a deal but it's heavy to lift alone.

I mean, if you own an airplane and/or are going to charter one, I would expect you could get something quite nicer than a $500 part-special but, hey, you do you.

How could you possibly want this if you got the Yamaha? I got the cheap one (CrossCore) and this holds about zero interest by comparison - it's not even in the same class. Not that it's bad for the price, but unless you're buying this as a second bike so that you can lock it up on the streets of NYC and not feel bad when it gets stolen or vandalized I don't see the draw.
This would be super easy to fold and pack into the trunk of my sedan. With my Wabash RT, I have to use my cheapo rack which always makes me nervous. Or cram it into the back seat after removing both wheels, which is a hassle to reassemble without the disc brakes rubbing.
