The said the phone had no trade in value because "the screen was broken". The screen was cracked and half of it from below crack was dark but still visible. I had reflected that in the trade in value selections and they couldn't tell me how that was any diffferent than trading in a cracked screen phone. I argued that either way the screen would have to be replaced to resell, but they didn't see it that way.

They will not honor online trade-in value in store. I already tried. if anyone looking for one, make sure to replace an order online only.

So you had placed an order with $490 trade in for pixel 8a and when you went to pick up the order they did not honor it. I'm seeing right now $490 trade in for pixel 8a again with Verizon activation

It was me that made the comment. Phone rep said the 25th and the original 399 price. But the inflated trade in values will likely be gone. That's how it usually goes when these deals come back.

Edit: Called it. Enhanced trade in values are already gone.

Not yet, even if it shows $190 when you go to final checkout you should see the enhanced values. I just placed an order.

Enhanced trade in values are back, just got an order in.

Talked to a few reps on Monday morning, the most knowledgeable one said the 399 price was a mistake. Not holding my breath, but hoping is right.

If it does come back, I'm going to try and price match given that it's within the 14 day period.

so if I am able to find 1 in store, how's the process with the new number with Verizon? Will Best buy will assign a new Verizon number on pickup and then after reaching home I can call Verizon to cancel the account?

Do we need to purchase a monthly package as well? I'm unable to proceed with checkout without adding a Verizon monthly plan, but I don't want one. Can someone guide me through the complete process?

No, it's fully unlocked. What do you mean "semi-unlocked"? I successfully bought this phone, activated with a new Verizon account, and traded in an iPhone 13. My bill came out to like $60. I canceled the service within 3 days and was given a bill of $0 from Verizon. The phone comes factory unlocked.

So you were also not a Verizon customer before? And ended up with $60 in total after the trade in?

I got two orders on the original deal cancelled trying to port in a GV number to ATT... ordered again now for a new number with Verizon.
Doesn't feel great to spend $100 more than I would have a few days ago, but they say you shouldn't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. They're still offering $260 for a Pixel6a and like others have said, seems likely they'll drop that if the $399 price ever comes back. If it does hopefully they'll let me pricematch!
