Guinea pig for what exactly? LG provides the panels to Sony, Samsung, and any other OLED manufacturer out there, they know what they are doing. They have a 5 year panel warranty as default and no other manufacturer offers such a warranty. Not only that this is literally saving nearly 1k out of the gate.
Ok, if you really believe MSRP's are real and LG is perfect then there is nothing left to say but enjoy your new tv.

No, see you are applying a false narrative. I know what these TV's sell for in other countries, I have no qualms or misunderstandings about how pricing is currently set.. with that said, I also know what a good "American" deal is and all things considering, since this is literally the gold standard of TVs, this isn't bad both historically and currently speaking for pricing. At least with 900 off. They are not perfect by any stretch, they are having bad issues with HDMI EARC on the B/C/G4 series, but they are still typically higher rated for customer satisfaction other than Sony.

I am not buying this right now, I am a slickdealer, I don't buy anything unless it is an emergency and until the price is 40% or greater off than MSRP.

Finally, if you are going to say your opinion, then I ask you what you mean, why don't you actually come back to the topic of "guinea pig" and assert what you intended as asked instead of bypassing it with a cherry picked opinion that had nothing to do with anything. Thanks.

Really? 83g4 was always around $4500 right after release. Still too much personally

I'm going to wait and see what happens after official release which sounds like next week. The G4 is about 4k right now through LG's EPP program, it may drop lower if they have inventory to push, but if the G5 dips below 5k on the 83, I'll probably bite. I'm ok paying a little more (up to 1k) for the latest model. Definitely not paying 6500 retail for it, but also would like to see a C5 and G5 side by side as either would be a huge upgrade over my 82 inch Q70 from 2020. I have a smaller C2 LG OLED in my home office for watching TV while working, even that is a huge step up from my Q70 in picture quality.

Unfortunately for all new /5 Models - C5 and G5 in particular, LG has decided to drop all support for DTS and ATSC tuner is still 1.0.

Curious why people make a big stink over the lack of DTS - aren't streaming options dolby digital or atmos these days? I can understand if they have blu rays, 4k blu rays, etc... that have DTS, but solution there would be to connect directly with the player to the soundbar or home theater sound system. Curious if this lack of DTS is a real issue or not, or just requires things to be set up differently - reading through some forums and get mixed opinions. I just ordered a G5, will be running a Q990D soundbar for daily use, have a dedicated 4k player connected through my home theater system when watching blu rays and want to take advantage of a more proper atmos set up - so I assume I won't miss/need/notice lack of DTS. Curious what others think about lack of DTS....

You pretty much answered it, but also keep in mind Disney+ as well has many offerings that are DTS:X. But since, I am assuming your dedicated 4k player can also process DTS, you won't miss it from the TV using passthrough.
