I too have been eyeing the Bosch glide! 10in and 12in. Love that it doesn't take up room the glide arm, I just don't know if the Bosch prices ever goes down similar to dewalts?
First, you're going to ask yourself how you ever survived without a compound mitre saw once you start digging into your projects.
Second, this tool will pay for itself after one or two nice sized projects. I bought one years ago to do all my own interior trim (baseboards, door trim, etc) and it saved me $2K-$3K off contractor doing it. I've used it for countless projects over the years including hobby stuff - just get the saw - 100% will not be disappointed (they are actually fun tools.)
The price on this seems oddly low (I'm probably missing something - not familiar with Dewalt's prices) but my Hitachi of same features was $399 on sale.

Appreciate the insight. This one 716xps is non sliding.
Can the regular DWS716 be upgraded with the XPS light feature? I think I read that some older DW716 can.
My goal is diy projects like trim workaround and the house and other projects that required small cuts. Nothing ever like furniture etc.
Needs are precise and quality cuts and small light and nimble. I would like laser even if it's an addon
Will this model work and can I add the laser? The 779 is huge and super heavy.
