But with how everything shifted to USB charging and the easy availability of adapters, there's still tons of use for these in various projects. Any device that takes AA or AAA batteries can use them with a converter for extra endurance.
They're also cheap enough to not have to worry about lending them out to visiting friends.
Throw them on a trickle charger and they're happy to be left alone for months in case of emergency.

Even for older devices, I would go with Zolo/INIU/Baseus $12 bricks for the flexibility to use on modern devices jointly.
I expect these will fall to 2-for-$10 territory this year, before they finally exit the supply chain.

This $8 each isn't terrible for this style of battery. And it does have USB-C, even if it isn't PD.

I could care less what other people buy for their own reasons. If you can justify it, good on you. I don't understand it based on the logic that I see as most valid but I also don't need to understand why you spend your money on something.

Deal is live again even though SD hasn't updated expired status yet.
Far better deal in my opinion. And exactly where I said the price was headed.
Update: Six hours later the coupon has expired again.

Also it can't go on aircraft, since stated capacity exceeds 160 Wh.
Wanted to buy one for road trips, but the reviews scared me off. Thanks for sharing though.
