Unfortunately the market is flooded with counterfeit CR2032 batteries. Even from reputable online resellers I've purchased counterfeit Sony and Panasonic C2032, which is really annoying when I use them for ultra lower power devices that are a pain to replace.
Now I just wait for the Duracell batteries to go on sale at Costco and stock up.

Amazon has a major problem with fake watch batteries.

I've bought many fakes. They all died in 3 months in my key fob. Bought a real battery and it's worked for 1.5 years in my fob.

The fakes last less than a month or three in a red dot. Real ones last indefinitely.

I don't know why there are always people complaining in battery discount posts that the batteries on Amazon are fake. Don't you know that many big and small brands of batteries are produced in the same OEM factory? Big brands are better because they are more adaptable to low temperature weather, and there is not much difference in capacity. But I have to say that some sellers really sell low capacity batteries.

China makes some really atrocious batteries that get rebranded. Ones from Japan, esp rechargeable can easily last 10-20 years and the cheap ones can barely hit 1 year. Even Apple phone lithium loses a lot in 3 years nowdays, I still have ipad 2 that i use sparingly and i charge it every 2-3 MONTHS. Today my ipad pros cannot last a week OFF.
