I recently moved into an apt for a heavily discounted rate with the condition that I will take care of all the home improvement/repair that occur inside the apt. Thus, I plan to expand my tools from the basic hammer and screwdriver, as I also want to drill on the wall to hang the frame, blot the tall shelves, install wall-mounted shelves, etc. I already did some research and got myself a stud finder, but as I tried to find a deal for power tools that can drill, I am already overwhelmed with if I need an impact driver or drill, what brand to choose from and etc.
Thus, I wonder if any of you can give me some basic recommendations, such as what tools I should buy and which bands are reliable and suitable if I need to expand my tools?
I saw this set and have little idea what they are for, should I just get this or start from one and slowly buy more?

This is a good kit especially if you are starting out.

Milwaukee is a very good brand, but also generally the most expensive. If you want to save some cash ryobi is not as good, but if you're not working 40hrs a week with them on a job site they'll probably be fine and a lot cheaper as you need to pick up new tools

as to what you need for what project, watch some videos on YouTube of doing what you want to do, then go get those tools and supplies, per project.

thanks! that makes lot of sense! There is one store nearby me with 1 clearance in stock, so I will find a time to swing by and see if they still have it! I will also take your suggestiong of watching youtube video to get a sense what tools they used! thanks so much!

I personally prefer Makita tools but they are one of the most expensive unless you catch deals on here they are still owned by themselves like Hilti tools but pretty much the rest of the tool brands are owned by a couple major tool companies Milwaukee and Ryobi our own by the same company and that's why you can see some similarities and a great Improvement in Ryobi Express in their brushless line but that is a very good starting kit try to keep them out of the rain take care of them unless you get a defect which they would replace they should be fine and they can take some beatings for the most part

Milwaukee 12v is another less-expensive option. And I'm noting lately they're cheaper than Ryobi (which is 18v) but in many or most cases the tool rate as good or better.

Ryobi not as good? I've had far more Milwaukee tools fail on me than Ryobi.
