They list the Viofo Amazon sale as starting on the 25th. Rather have easy returns.

Beware of the A229 pro two channel! I am having a hell of a time with the cameras overheating and shutting down. LOTS of back and forth with VIOFO.

It isn't even summer here yet..essentially a paperweight. Lots of reports on various forums of this issue.

A229+ may have less issues? Possibly the tech isn't there yet for 4k systems?

Try higher frame rate, lower resolution? I've read that people have had success with that.

Ill repost my story regarding VIOFO. I HAVE had decent experiences with my two vehicle installs of an A129 and A139Pro, and only my oldest one, that suffered through 150 degree Arizona desert summers had some glue slip on the lens causing slight focus issues after a few years:

"My A129 lost focus because of AZ heat. It was under warranty, but since they keep changing models they could not offer me a replacement. Instead of RMA'ing or fixing my front cam, they offered me $30 off a new similar camera but only from their website.
Was very disappointed with their "warranty". I'm stuck using an out of focus front cam, because they constantly change models, form factors, shapes, and sensors. I like their cams otherwise, but my one CS experience was not that great."

Tried all of that. I am currently testing multiple versions of firmware; they have confirmed the logs on *both cameras indicate the unit is overheating.

Feels like I am pissing in the wind and been screwing with this back and forth mess with them for nearly 5 weeks now. Camera in both vehicles shut down with the slightest amount of heat. Driving or not. They are useless.

Buyer beware.

I think the 4k units have poor heat management. My A129 2k camera had no issues at all. I may put that one back in.

I can agree with this. I am losing my patience, quickly.

I have TWO of the cameras that are overheating. Not exactly a small amount of money for a window decoration.

Dang I avoided the 4K Viofo cameras 3 years ago, crazy they haven't solved the overheating problem yet. I have a 4K no name brand I bought from ebay 4 years ago and it's still going strong.

I had the same issue and then i ended up getting two A119 Mini's 2 with the starvis sensor. This way they are recording on 2 separate SD cards. if you had a Suv or higher you most likely have an cigarette lighter port in the back which makes it convenient for back window.

I went with the A229 Plus for that reason. Hopefully it holds up in the heat.

I've had the A229 plus installed for a month with no issues thus far. Will see how it holds up this summer.
