Have the same exact set of 3 sticks from bestbuy a few years ago. They got corrupted pretty quickly. Waste of money. My advise: Stay away from these.
Had one of these as well. Failed in a weird way that only something with a USB 2 port would work and not on a USB 3.

It is possible you had USB2 sticks and not USB3 ones. I had a number of occasions where a USB2 storage device was not recognized in USB3 port, but worked properly in USB2 one.
Can't comment on longevity of these. I have a 2GB PNY Attache that serves me a number of years, but I do not write to it very often.

The drive was USB 3, and previously worked on USB 3 ports. USB3 ports are also backwards compatible with USB2 drives so it made no sense. It just refused to work after sometime on USB3 ports on multiple computers.

This is a very broad assumption. I experienced numerous examples of opposite. The reason could be outdated storage drive chipsets not reflected in USB 3 drivers. I surmise.

Previously got a 10 pack of the 16GB version. They were labeled 16GB but Windows showed capacity consistent with 32GB. No idea if these are similarly odd. YMMV.

If you're asking, you probably don't need it. I have large-ish files videos, etc. that I need to distribute to presenters, committee members, or just friends. Fairly often, I need to install or clean install an OS. I have a client where I download reports when I'm on site, but the computer I'm using is NOT the final destination for the files. So, the use cases are the same as they've always been. It's just where streaming, download, and linking are not in use or as not feasible.

Microcenter gives these away every year. I have so many of these, that I give them away to anyone who will take it.
**You'd be surprised on how many people turn down the coupon for a free USB drive, as they are walking into the Microcenter.

Use cases:
Boot USBs (Windows, iOS, Linux, Steamdeck)
Spare data storage to swap/give with friends. I always keep one in my backpack.
Something to throw at people walking by (with a copy of a Rick Ashley video).
