Hmm. I just got the Tab A for less than $155 otd. Now I have to read up on the difference between that device and this device.

Similarities:
8GB/128GB
11" 1920x1200 90hz
7040 mAh battery
4 speakers

Differences:
Mediatek G88 vs Snapdragon 695
slightly smaller vs bigger bezel
better cameras vs lower MP front/rear
flash vs no flash
1.02 lb vs 1.06lb

EDIT:
Website below lists both processors. Not sure how accurate the website is, but seems Snapdragon wins on paper.

Here is my bottom line....
I have been saying for about a year that the slowest CPU/GPU that you should by is the G99 which is equivalent to the SD695. This deal is for the next step lower CPU/GPU which is the G88. The G99 is about 40% faster then the G88.

For LOWEND tablets they go as this........ and the G88 does not even make my list.
G99 and the next one up from this is the Dimensity 7050. And this is equivalent to the SD695 and the next one up from this is the SD 6 Gen 1 (equivalent to the Dimensity 7050). The trend is more devices will be dropping the G99 and SD695 CPU and start making devices with the Dimensity 7050 as the new King of low end. At the same time the SD695 is being dropped and the SD 6 Gen 1 is starting to be the other king of low end. So the new kings of lowend CPUs are about 40% faster.

I personally do not recommend getting a tablet that is slower then a SD695 or G99 with at least 8GB of RAM, so I can not recommend this deal.

AND there is a Samsung deal right now, the A9+ which has the SD695. I normally do not recommend Samsung but the A9+ is under 160 and also has 8GB of RAM and 128GB harddrive.

But my favorite LOWEND tablet is the "iplay 60 mini turbo" by alldocube which has the SD 6 Gen 1 CPU and USB-C 3.1 (3.1 does HDMI out so you can connect to any TV). It has 8GB of RAM 128GB Hard drive, Micro SD card BUT it only has a 8.4" screen which turns people away. This sells for 140ish from vendor on ALiexpress.

I think this has an SD slot, but it is really difficult to find out for sure. I did find this from Lenovo's website: https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/p/ta...orts_slots
I think this feature would make it a better deal than Samsung, but the above post about processing power does maybe sway the consensus back.

The problem is Lenovo will throw in good hardware specs in some of their tables but then they always have some kind of critical oversight or design flaw, and with little to no support after release. For that tablet in particular, there is no official "global ROM" and even getting it setup to work outside of China is a chore in itself. The only non-Chinese who should ever bother with that tablet and others like it, are people who enjoy tinkering and are gluttons for frustration.

I will never recommend a Lenovo tablet after my own experiences. I fell for the Slickdeals Lenovo hype once upon a time and never again. Buyers need to do their research and as always caveat emptor.

I kind of agree. I just found out that you should only buy the Chinese Version and never buy the global version unless it is released by the manufacturer. dd
Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Prod does not have a global version that means it was opened and unlocked and there will probably never be any updates. If you get the Chinese version you need to clean up the tablet and sideload the playstore. The Chinese tablet will most likely get updates.
I find this post to be very useful.

Please share what problems you have with the Lenovo tablet.

I have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 11. It stuck on Android 12, but I knew it would when I bought the tablet. No complain here. My tablet has no GPS, that I didn't know until I received the tablet. I'm a little annoyed here. The CPU or SoC is MediaTek Helio G90T. It's so-so, but I'm OK with it. Restart after reboot takes awhile, but I can take break during reboot. That is my experience with the only Lenovo tablet I have. Would like to know other's experience.

Thanks for this. I figured someone on here has a better idea on the proc specs.

I used the A9+ 8GB a few hours yesterday for setup, web browsing (and found I can use desktop version of Twitch on a browser - win), and even a game that I usually use on my iPhone 16 Pro - and found no issues.

I can agree that the SD 695 is likely the lowest one should go for a good experience. The game loads an extra second or two longer than the iP16P for sure. But as far as "regular" tasks like web browsing and single-app-at-a-time usage, I think this is fine.

I just realized the A9+ 8GB was on sale for $127 some time ago; that would have been a sweeter deal.

EDIT:
I really wanted to jump on the iPlay tabs but really scared of the aliexpress/chinese product aspect. For an extra $15, I'd take the Samsung.

Try not to be afraid of aliexpress and I suggest you buy something from them. We buy bucket hats from ALi for my kid. Or cheap sunglasses.
I think you made the right move between this tablet an the iplay 60 mini turbo. Because of updates.
My only other suggestions is to see if you can clean up the bloatware on your tablet. And I would recommends the app "killsapp" from the playstore. I've purchased like three pieces of software in my life an Killsapp is one of them... but you can use the free version.
Also.... if you are running an Android. I also suggest you install "Kiwi Browser" and download (google just took it off their store) ublock origin and install it as a addon within Kiwi. Youtube videos of this if you are unsure how to do this. But with this add blocker I find my internet speed seriously increases plus I never get popups... NEVER.

Every tablet is based on the CPU/GPU... period.
I like using the website "notebookcheck" and I compare CPU/GPU. It says the SD695 is about 20% faster then your G90T... not enough for you to consider upgrading. But I don't know how much RAM you have.

I should get the wife into aliexpress. At the moment, we go between amazon and TEMU depending on the product and when we need it. NGL, I've scrolled through aliexpress in the past but just haven't pulled the trigger.

Agreed with bloatwear; I'm a Pixel guy because of the clean UI & fewer stuff I actually have to remove.

Will look into killsapp; I don't mind buying things that are actually useful. ublock has been installed but currently using samsung browser with it. I did see Kiwi recommended by folks; will look into it.

I bought a P12 Pro, based on the rave reviews from both Slickdeals and Reddit. I didn't do more diligent research or else I would have learned for free that Lenovo tablets are notorious for having a wide variety of issues and Lenovo basically offers no support (in USA). My P12 Pro had the worst OLED screen I've ever seen, with terrible black levels, and a weird tint with graininess/speckling. It also had poor/inconsistent responsiveness to touches.

Lenovo offered zero real support for any of the issues I had, literally their only suggestions were to restart the tablet or reset to factory defaults, which of course can't fix their shoddy manufacturing and poor quality. They would not RMA.

Combined with my similarly bad experiences with Lenovo laptops at work, I'm completely soured on them.
