Have to spend $1,159 up front but can return the dust collector for $830.21. Track saw would then be $328.79. Cheapest I've seen a Makita Track Saw, great if you already have batteries and chargers.

Anytime I see Makita on SD I get excited, but this isn't the deal for me.

Any specifics on how to do this? Does where I ship matter?

You just order the dust extractor and make sure the saw is selected as your "free gift" go pick it up or ship to your home. Have your receipt and return the dust extractor for $830 back.

When you add it to your cart you will see that there are two separate prices for each item. That means you're able to return one and keep the other.

I don't have any 40v batteries yet, just 18v, but I've been eying this saw. Crazy how expensive the batteries are. Any suggestions for batteries down the road?

Get the pack with the battery, charger, and bins. You only have to buy and return a fan. Much better deal if you need the battery as well

Here's the page with the above mentioned deal: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makit...-n/a-_-n/a

If the fan would be returned, the saw, charger, 4.0 Ah battery and two cases (saw and presumably a case for the charger and a/batteries) comes to: $527.78 before sales tax.

I really wish I could catch a deal on the dual 18V version of the track saw though…

My son has the corded Makita track saw. When connected to a shop vac and the view hole in the side covered, this saw is nearly dustless.

(this) XGT w/ Makita track is definitely better (not by much) than M18 w/ Milwaukee track. However, M18 is often cheaper (both the batteries and saw). For example, the XGT have better dust extraction system, but you have to buy dust collector to take advantage of it. It really depends on which platform you already had or planning on getting into. Whichever one you choose, you won't be disappointed. Maybe just the wallet.

I've been wanting this plunge track saw for a while. I was nervous about taking this route to get a good deal thinking for sure I would be the one where HD says something like I must return both if I want to return one. However all the paranoia for no reason got my saw sans extractor and all's well thanks!

18v battery charger compatible with 40v saw. Will need separate chargers?
