That's why you get the Humble Bundles when they come. I got the first one they offered even though I already had the game, it had enough DLC to make it worth it and gave the base game code to a friend. They had a couple after that had even more DLC but since I didn't really play much of the game it didn't feel worth it to me.

I keep telling myself I'll get into it more and I've had it for a decade. It's no doubt a great game, my interest in city builders has dwindled since my SimCity 4 days.

Good game and good deal, but be aware: this is a Paradox game, so there is tons of DLC that add up to ton of money.

Everyone played this. It been free multiple times on Epic and Humble has offered several deals that included all the DLC for under $10.

I only put 10 or so hours into it. It was alright but I struggled a bit with how pipes and power were handled as my power plant wasn't even at 100 percent but my city was having blackouts periodically and I never researched it more.

I probably put 15 hours into the second one. It's a bit more intuitive but at this stage in my life I just don't have time for these time sinks.

I have not played this in a while but if I recall, there is the steam workshop for free "DLC"? I am not sure how workshop items compare to DLC. I found bus only roads and lots of cool things.

I usually try to make a utopian city that the areas around support but as always traffic kills between the different areas. I once read it is more about traffic management than a city builder... seemed pretty accurate.

edit. steam workshop items are free

I have way too much time in this and am horribly addicted. It's great.

DLC goes on sale pretty often (lots were $2-$3 over winter sale) and there's lots of mods and workshop items you can download for free. Be warned that this is a 10 year old game at this point so lots of mods and assets from the workshop can be broken so read the reviews and check the last updated notes.

Was waiting for the Xbox release but has been delayed indefinitely. Graphics in the preview looked really good

You know theres 65 paid DLC right? Humble didnt run all the dlc ever at once and certainly not for 10, but you can get some good ones, i just dont want someone thinking they need to 'wait' for a $10 all dlc deal, thats never happening.

Don't bother with the DLC... I've bought 3 or 4 and every time thought- "oh that looks good"

Then after buying the DLC at 50% off on the sale always felt like DLC still not worth it.

Game is great though- resist the urge to buy the DLC, they're just not worth it. There is lots of great community content for free on the steam forums workshop though. Better than the DLC.

Sure, but with the last humble bundle it had 15 or so DLC. The cool thing about it is you don't NEED to have all 65 DLC to really have an extended experience of the game. If someone wants to experience that much of the game then just go buy Cities: Skylines 2 and get a ton of quality of life improvements.

Sims 4 is free and I have met some players that are excited about new DLC as if it were a sequel to a fantastic movie. When I was curious because of the passion over the new DLC what was in the DLC it was like furniture or something. Don't underestimate a little bit of Cosmetics for some people. One guy and one gal, that didn't know each other.

edit. I'm not saying horse armor is for me, I'm just saying some people like it.

Yep sure enough I checked my Humble accounts key library and there it was, who knows when I bought it (probably one of the monthly bundles). Installed, we'll see if I ever play the thing.

Definitely for some games DLC adds a lot. Civ 6 for example- terrible without the DLC, fantastic with them. I guess for Sims, if there isn't really much to change in the play and no community content- aesthetics are everything. (I don't know, haven't played Sims since the original Sims).

For Cities Skylines, I don't value the DLC- not even for cosmetics. You can get equal quality cosmetics from the steam community for free and a much wider variety. There is some "code" in the DLC too though but it's typically pretty simple, new zoning for things like parks, or industry (depending on DLC) which is nice, but not really improving the game, just changing it slightly. One of the DLC adds a day/night cycle which is quite nice. For me they all have to be really discounted to be worth it tought.

It's been in several bundles.
I hope you heard how they are cracking down on holding keys and many people say their keys got expired. You may want to go through and activate them or find someone who wants them.
