in season this rent goes for 450-550. this islast year or older but can is still being found at 370. sams club's last price for UL2 was lowest at 298 and this is obviously a lot lower. I personally think this was a great find and purchased it and am thus biased. they also have the UL4. on sale. this is honestlly SIerra level pricing.Sieera usually has steal for tents but they are generally crappy this is a steal on a extremely well regarded tent so +1 t the poster

Everyone's saying "it's a bit tight" - well yeah, it's a backpacking tent. Don't buy this for car camping, even for one person, period. It's UL which means it's less tough but very light.

It's one of the best double-wall freestanding backpacking tents you can buy. You can get lighter tents, but they'll either be triple the price, single wall (condensation issues), or require your hiking poles to set up.

Absolute steal at this price.

Yeah, that's why they call it the UL2, as opposed to the UL3 or UL4. That being said, these "ultralight tents" are usually a bit overreaching in terms of size. If you want some decent comfort, deduct 1 person from the specs.

One thing about past-season tents... the waterproof seam tape on the fly sheet hardens with time and flakes off. This happens even on new tents in storage that have never been used. I learned this the hard way with an REI UL tent. And it's not an easy job to remove old tape and replace it.

So setting up the tent prevents this? I just ordered one of these for a fall trip to Isle Royale

I keep my tent loosely packed in an oversized pillow case. I think Nemo recommends that. 🤷 ♂️

Then I'll stuff it in its stuff sack when I'm ready to use it

This is a good deal on a well regarded ultralight free-standing tent. As others have noted, probably tight for two people, especially with the tapered design. But a great price. Was seriously considering purchasing, but there's a 10% non-member fee plus $8 in shipping since I'll never need a membership. With tax, it pushes the price over $250, which is a bummer.

YMMV but I got a $500+ Marmot tent this year for $75 bucks from Sierra in person. It's awesome. I actually had ordered one for $125 online and went in and found it in person and cancelled my original order in the store it was such a good price. I love Sierra.

That is a much heavier tent than the copper spur.

How is Sam's club return policy compared to REI?
