It's a good price, but if you're going to daily transport one, trust me... You want a physical kickstand. The folding cases will eventually frustrate you.

And then you have two. Personal experience.

My portable monitor is fritzing out so this could be good timing, however I'm not a huge fan of that monitor's resolution (also 1080 FHD). I guess maybe I've been spoiled by retina/UHD on my other screens (I use the portable as a third for comms apps). Gives me pause, but $40 is $40...

True, I literally have two wads of that tacky poster mount stuff propping the screen up on the stand of my current portable bc it's so flimsy. And it doesn't transport anywhere bc it's a pain.

As far as I am concerned, all these panels under $100 are almost all identical but just with different logo slapped on it. So this is a good price if you need one
Exactly. I bought one recently. Even the user manual and guide are identical, only with different emails for custom service.

Yeah, SD users can be so strange. People TD deals marked YMMV because it isn't in their area. People TD comments that point out a deal not marked YMMV are not available in all areas…
Same, monitors for me almost always have that message for some reason. Must be a Midwest thing.

Now my turn to get random thumb down lol

Keep in mind that some of these portable monitors do not support pass-through charging , while others do. I bought an Arzopa model over a year ago and was able to connect it to my steam deck while also charging it though the second USB-C port on the monitor. So the USB-C wall charger is connected to one of the monitor's port, while the steam deck was connected via the monitors second USB-C port. Power was routed back to the steam deck, without needing to resort to any dock or an HDMI cable. But that model did not have a kickstand, and I found the cover type stand too unstable and incredibly frustrating. So I returned it and bought some other brand with the same exact specs but with a built-in kickstand. To my surprise, this one did not support pass-through charging. So while I could connect my steam deck; unless I used a dock, I could not charge it during use. So I returned that one as well, since this was an even bigger deal-breaker. At this point, I did not want to play roulette with various other brands on Amazon. So I bought a more expensive Arzopa model that had better specs (supported higher refresh rate), and had an in-built stand. Luckily this one did support pass-through charging, and I've had it for a year now.

I have no clue whether this model on sale will have the same issue. Just something to keep in mind. All these external monitors might use the same panel but they surely aren't built the same.

Didn't need it, but, bought one. Thanks OP. Now the wife can be mad at me again for spending 💰... however I feel the possibilities with this type of monitor will be very helpful for a variety of things! For example a nice mobile gaming setup for the kids !

Very good price and only $8 for a 4-year protection plan. I think with $48 we'll get 2 monitors in 2 years (1st monitor dies within a year, then we'll get a new one from the protection plan which will also die within a year).
Do they really last that short? Honest question... ty
