Yes, it's always better to put all your deliveries in a box so the porch pirates can more easily carry everything.

The hurdle for any delivery system like this is getting your delivery person to actually use it
They are all on the clock, often not the same person on the same route etc, so unique requests and special instructions are often missed.
YMMV of course
I'm usually happy enough if my package makes it, intact, not in the rain, etc
