Avoid. This is a Ryzen 5 5600G with lower clocks and disabled graphics. It has all the drawbacks of 5600G meaning less L3 cache and only supports PCI 3.0 not PCI 4.0

There are valid criticisms above regarding features and value already in the thread.

At the same time, this is a noteworthy price considering Amazon is beating the Micro Center price by $3.99. Some credit is due when a national retailer lists at a price competitive with a local retailer.

Good luck!

3600 is currently $89.
5600x is currently $109.
Both support gen 4.

If you're building a PC, there are more ideal components to skimp on, such as the case or case fans. Three pack of Thermalright argb pwm for $15 vs Corsair for $60.

Not a bad option for people upgrading older system. The PCI-E limitation doesn't matter if the MB doesn't support it anyway. Not as good of a gaming CPU due to the lower cache which is unfortunate with the integrated GPU disabled. Still going to beat the pants off a 1000/2000 Ryzen.

This isn't accurate.

Edit: I thought the obvious was stated by a comment earlier calling the 5500 a 5600g without the iGPU, but I guess people don't read like that. My fault for underestimating people.

Here is a link to the 5500 review:

TLDR: The 5500 is better than the 3600 and 3600x in all the games in both 1080p and 1440p.

For similar money you can get a 5600 from Aliexpress, NO COOLER THOUGH, but coolers can be found for dirt cheap. US gov's initiative on removing the De Minimis policy has been delayed for now.

5600 has double the L3 cache and PCIE 4.0 support. Crucial for lower end GPUs with weird pcie setups (rx 6400 only has 4 pcie lanes, meaning pcie 4.0 is vital)

A 5500 is just a 5600g without the iGPU. But since you are so inclined:

"The Ryzen 5 5500 falls within 2 percent of the Ryzen 5 5600G in the 1080p benchmarks, but it isn't as much of a closely-contested battle against the Intel chips."

are we having a discussion based on 2% cause you don't want to be technically wrong?

I just bought this cpu with the motherboard combo from a week back via newegg. It's paired with the 2080ti and 64gb of Ram and it runs well, and performed great on 3DMark benchmark tests. I have a new AM5, 7800x3d system as well, and for the money this Cpu with cheap motherboard, Ram on XMP profile, and decent GPU is a great value.

why does every graph show a 10fps difference, even comparing them in percentages its not 2%
