At the same time, this is a noteworthy price considering Amazon is beating the Micro Center price by $3.99. Some credit is due when a national retailer lists at a price competitive with a local retailer.
Good luck!

5600x is currently $109.
Both support gen 4.
If you're building a PC, there are more ideal components to skimp on, such as the case or case fans. Three pack of Thermalright argb pwm for $15 vs Corsair for $60.

This isn't accurate.

Edit: I thought the obvious was stated by a comment earlier calling the 5500 a 5600g without the iGPU, but I guess people don't read like that. My fault for underestimating people.
Here is a link to the 5500 review:

TLDR: The 5500 is better than the 3600 and 3600x in all the games in both 1080p and 1440p.

5600 has double the L3 cache and PCIE 4.0 support. Crucial for lower end GPUs with weird pcie setups (rx 6400 only has 4 pcie lanes, meaning pcie 4.0 is vital)
A 5500 is just a 5600g without the iGPU. But since you are so inclined:

Wondered how my Temu stuff came in. Lol.
"The Ryzen 5 5500 falls within 2 percent of the Ryzen 5 5600G in the 1080p benchmarks, but it isn't as much of a closely-contested battle against the Intel chips."
are we having a discussion based on 2% cause you don't want to be technically wrong?
