Yep it's awesome. Prefer using it on pc to my official xbox controllers. Build quality feels the same in hand, but the hall effect sticks feel way better. As the other poster mentioned, it only works wired with console though. One of the best charging docks I've used too. Also be sure to use the dongle instead of Bluetooth.

Yeah, pretty big gotcha there.
I'm still waiting on a decent sale for the 8bitdo Pro 2 w/ hall effect. Hopefully my regular Pro 2 lasts until then

Been tempted to get one, although not sure if I need one over my Xbox controller on PC. Think it's worth the upgrade?

Was tempted by this a couple of years back when my bumpers were cracked on my controller, but opted to just replace those.

Maybe it's just me but mine had pretty bad latency issues with the dongle as I played on my ROG Ally. I've only tried it twice, did a reset and when it didn't fix it I gave up. I'll give it a shot again though has anyone experienced this and have tips?

FYI - This lacks gyro, the ability to program macros, and turbo. If you can live without those, this is a good deal.

They work great. If you get a magic-x adapter from Amazon you can use it wirelessly on your Xbox series s/x with the 2.4ghz dongle. My only complaint is you have to put the controller in PC mode and the Xbox home button requires you to double press to open the home menu. Single press opens the power options menu. But all other buttons work great and no lag at all.

These controllers have a great form factor. I have several different types of 8bitdo controllers and keyboards because they're quality. Charging dock is a nice plus and connecting is easy. Now, I will say, if you prefer the triggers on Xbox Controllers, you may not like this. It's more akin to PlayStations triggers which I love but, personally, not for shooters.

I have and it's great! The paddles will wear so if you're game a lot and use paddles consistently they will eventually not be as responsive. 8bitdo does have a one year warranty. Like mentioned, the controller cannot be used wirelessly on Xbox. Must be some kinda of licensing issue. Overall for $30 pro controller it's a steal compared to $250-300 pro controllers.

I bought it earlier this month on same deal, been using it with retroarch (mainly N64) and really like it.

Don't bother for xbox when you can routinely buy 1st party for the same price that will work wirelessly. But, great for pc/bluetooth/mobile use.

This going to sound really weird because USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB 2 but I saw something saying that these 2.4GHz dongles don't play nicely with USB3.

I was having similar trouble with my 8bitdo Ultimate 2C hooked up to my steam deck via a dock. I dug through my cables drawer and found an old USB 2.0 extension cable and plugged the dongle into that and the cable into my dock and I've had zero issues since then. I wish my dock had a USB 2.0 port but it doesn't so I used what I had. It might be worth trying to use an old USB 2.0 hub or extension cable if you have one lying around 🤷

Note that this will come with a free month of game pass ultimate trial card which if you take at face value is a $19.99 value.

Also, the dock is setup so that the dongle is inside the dock (plugged into an internal USB port) so you can just plug the USBC cable into the dock and the other end into your PC which you will need to do anyway to make the charging dock function anyway) and the wireless will work that way, saving a USB port.

Main issue I have had with these is the extra paddle buttons have a little piece of rubber as a bumper that plugs into a small hole with no glue, so it pops out internally and then the bumper becomes almost impossible to use, and these are a pain to take apart, and the little rubber part might have just fallen out completely. Had this happen on a couple of these. Other than that I love this controller, no complaints.

I hope this doesn't have the sloppy dpad my 8bitdo 2c has, which is horrible.

Personally I think you should just save up more for something with motion, which helps with fine aiming control quite a bit.
