While this may be a reasonable idea for many, be careful as you may see the backup card being charged unexpectedly if the main card is declined for some reason. Without a backup option, you get an email asking for updated payment in this case, not so if backup if setup. Also good to check if the backup has somehow turned itself on when you didnt mean for it to be on.

Same here—I'm not eligible. I vaguely recall taking advantage of this promotion about two years ago, so I'm guessing that's why I don't qualify. The offer could still be active for others, though, so it's worth a shot to try the link and see if it works for you IMO.

for whatever reason, I've had that once or twice but I have about a dozen cards in my wallet and it's a bit of a chore to keep having to update them when I see the expired logo next to them. luckily the amazon store card never expires.

That's weird. I've never had that happen. I've had to either remove or update CCs manually that have expired.

I think this is a function of the credit card networks. If the merchant is on their network, they can push out updates to your cards when they expire or get replaced. I had to replace a.visa earlier this year and I learned that through a few conversations while getting the replacement card.

I think it depends on how you add your card, if you login in to your account through Amazon or enter your information manually.
