Got this stuff, both the spray bottle and this refill, to try and it seems like it does absolutely nothing. It takes about half the regular bottle to spray my shower and has a strong scent, but things like soap scum and hard water stains are unchanged after it evaporates.

Here you go.

1 part alcohol
2 part vinegar
7 parts water

So 500ml....

350ml water
100ml vinegar (I use 5% you can use higher if you can find it )
50ml alcohol (I use 91%, 70% is fine and will work )
4 drop any dish soap (I use dawn platinum)

Math:

(1 part) Rubbing alcohol 70%
$2 for 16 Oz.
(2 part )Vinegar 5%
$1.50 for 32oz
4 drops πŸ’§ of dish soap
$.20 cents
(7 part) Water 112oz.

So 1 and 1/4 GALLON costs roughly $3.70 or .02 cents an ounce.

On an old shower we used something like this but it was only to prevent mold from growing, not remove anything that's already there.

I also don't understand why this is so popular. It does not clean at all, nor does it prevent dirt from forming or sticking on surfaces. I have used a whole bottle now from a prior slickdeal and I'm going to save my money and not get it again.

Personal method:

Baking soda with a little vinegar to make it pasty. Wear a nitrile glove and rub it on to scrub off soap and hard water stains. You can feel the glass become smoother thru the glove.

Rinse off, clean with sprayaway glass cleaner

Final coat with rain-x glass cleaner so the water beads off for a while.

My best tip is to use a shower squeegee after every shower. 5 seconds keeps it clean much longer.

I'll try this out in a pump spray the next time I clean my shower. I normally use scrubbing bubble aerosol but can't stand the scent.

I tried a bunch and this worked best for me - Clean Shower ($6 for 60oz at Target):

I use it with this sprayer from Amazon:

Mine takes 5 secs a day. Time is more important to me and the sprayer is (so far at least) a 1 time investment.

But each person needs to decide what's best for them…

I bought this before and had to discard it because of the smell and it didn't seem to work. Clean Shower performed better. It pained me because I hate throwing anything away and I'm not normally scent sensitive but this one for some reason is offensive to me.
Similar to someone else have found an excellent DIY solution now which is working great:
  • 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
  • 1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap, like blue Dawn
  • 1 tablespoon dishwasher rinse aid, like Jet-Dry
  • 2 cups water
Credit to everydaycheapskate which is where I found the recipe.
