All I meant is that it was called a laptop in the title of this post. There is a Surface Laptop, and this isn't it.
Imagine if people actually discussed the price and value rather than debating if this is a laptop or tablet.
valid point, updated, ty

So I have a Surface Pro 7. I love it I use it for work. Excel and Photoshop. Its a bit slow now. Would this be a signicant upgrade? Currently: Intel Core i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz 1.50 GHz // 16 GB Ram

I'm not sure how much of a speed improvement you would get with Excel, but I bet your battery life would be easily double, if not triple your old Surface.

It's just OK. Buydig is kind of shady, and the keyboard you get will be the cheapest one that doesn't charge the pen.

At this price it's the WiFi only model, but the cellular model is available at a higher price ($1799) although this coupon doesn't seem to apply to that model.

The picture it shows looks like it comes with the newest one that works disconnected (I think it's the FLEX keyboard) but I doubt it comes with that one, so a bit shady? Maybe...

I upgraded from a SP7+ (i7,16gb ram) to a SL7 (SD Elite, 16gb ram) and it's a significant improvement. Everything is much faster from the snappiness of the UI, speed, heat management, and significant battery life.

I have a Surface Pro X (which was the first of the ARM-based Surface Pros) and I love it. I'm planning to upgrade. At this point, though, I'm waiting to see if there's a new iteration coming out in a few months. I'm hoping they shrink the chassis a bit to match the older Surface Pro X model, or at least get closer to it. These new ones are a bit thicker and heavier, I believe to accommodate a fan. The X was fanless. We'll see.

But I can attest that these things are awesome for travel and casual use. Battery life is 10+ hours. I don't notice any sluggishness on any of the ARM-native apps I run, which is all but one or two now.

Tried Surface several times.
  1. Tablet not as good as iPad.
  2. Laptop not as good as Thinkpad
So I ends up bringing both a Thinkpad and iPad.

Well, if you are thinking about buying something from Buydig, you're going to have to live with shady.

Here's the CNET review [cnet.com]:

Pros
Excellent OLED display
Very good battery life
Class-leading NPU performance, for now
Finally, mainstream-Intel-comparable performance
Nice kickstand

Cons
Mixed graphics performance
Optional Pen and keyboard can get expensive
Can get hot while plugged in or intense usage
16GB is not enough

MS Surface pro is more laptop than tablet. The performance is better than any tablet. A surface pro can be used the way you use any laptop. The separate keyboard is a weak point. I've had a few of those keyboards fail on me.

This is a perfect device for a lot of students actually. The pen is great for taking notes in class, it's ultra portable for moving around all day in school, and battery life is significantly better than previous versions. Most students don't need anything more than this for school.

I used to carry around a Surface Pro 3 back when I was a student, with a gaming desktop in the dorm. It was the perfect setup. After I started working though, the need for a tablet form factor is a lot less than it used to be.
