I think I probably should have gotten the 110w panel but I got the 160watt panel + ecoflow for $369 after coupon and it's bigger than I was expecting even when folded down. Having to consider best way to transport it with the ecoflow in my new forester.
That is disappointing. It looks there's maybe a functional Home Assistant API that may work with tinkering but seems silly Ecoflow wouldn't put a bit of work in with that to provide UPS software. Otherwise, maybe putting a cheap or free degraded battery UPS in-between wired to the 12V output...eeesh.
Way around it- Buy small capacity/cheap UPS, plug PC or whatever you want into it. Then plug your UPS into Ecoflow. I have this setup x2: for 2 NASes and network equipment, split about equally. Works perfectly fine, as UPS takes care of taking over in milliseconds and then EcoFlow kicks in, restoring power back to UPS. With that setup I have about 3 hours runtime on each( I have 2 River 2 Ecoflows)Which gives me plenty of time to shut down NASes and some switches to prolong runtime of core network equipment and main access point, and decide when and if I want to go hook up generator.
I already have a gas generator, what are some other use cases to fully use its 5000 cycles of life?
Yes. I'm using one for my desktop computer. Bought one for exactly this purpose and it works great. You don't notice the switchover at all.
Oh, right, it doesn't, because it's not a UPS

The river 3 plus supposedly does work as an ups and has a USB port that connects to your PC. They have a Windows and linux-ish app called Power Manager

Yes, it has app control and you can set a minimum and maximum charge for it. I have a River 2 Max and use it for camping. Other uses could be remote job sites, tailgating, etc.
I expanded the capacity of mine by getting an EcoWorthy 100Ah LiFePo4 battery (also with Bluetooth), which triples the capacity of my original 568wH (can't recall exact number). I just had to get an xt60i to o-ring connector pigtail from Amazon to plug it into the EcoFlow. It thinks it's getting a 190w charge from solar power by doing it this way, and uses the 100Ah battery before draining it's own.

I thought a UPS simply allowed continuous operation of electronics if the power were to go out by seamlessly switching to the battery
A UPS certainly is a battery backup, but it does more than that
Is there a switch over? I have my river 3 set up to hold 50% power and add solar during the day. So it seems it's "always" running on battery, but then uses the ACinput keep the battery up. Maybe the 2 is different?
