I have this I don't find it uncomfortable ymmv. Did they make another Pro 2 that has Hall effect - mine does not

These show they were released last year. Must have been a small redesign. Can't tell but the pictures look slightly rounder/more bubbly than mine as well.

I can think of two reasons:

People who have the non-hall effect version buy this one and return their non-HE version in the packaging (aka return fraud).
People buy this for PC, but get upset that it's a Nintendo Switch layout and it gets confusing when using it as Xinput (button legend reads "B", but Xinput translates it as "A", which is how Xinput is laid out).

I'd press X to doubt, but I'm not exactly sure which one is X. In any case, I've played with this controller for hours and never had an issue with comfort. In fact, it's probably one of the best symmetrical controllers on the market. The d-pad is one of the best there is and the hall effect sticks are a bonus.

Yes, this version is a newer version that has Hall Effect sticks.

Yep, you can use it as Xinput or Dinput, just set the toggle switch on the back to the preferred input method.

FYI, these are going to continue being discounted due to 8bitdo making the switch to TMR sticks. TMR offers higher resolution and lower power consumption over Hall Effect sticks, making them a better choice for controllers.

TMR joysticks have a resolution of 3000 points per axis, versus 300 on hall effect.
TMR joysticks consume about 100 microamps, versus 4 milliamps on hall effect.

Unless you want/need Nintendo layout and/or the PlayStation style of joysticks , the recurring deal on woot for the 8bitdo 3-way controller is the better deal in my opinion (own three of those controllers and one SN30 Pro). Something to consider

I have this and it's fairly solid controller. Too bad the mobile phone clip for PRO 2 is no longer available or maybe obsolete Frown

.... I'd pair up to my older phone to play some retro games.

This is hands down an amazing controller, probably the best ATM. I use it to play games on my phone, switch, linux retro box, windows.. it will work with anything, it has 4 different modes to change its device ID which is fantastic. high build quality.

I've been searching for the mobile clip for weeks with no luck. I finally caved and ordered a Mechanism clip with magnetic phone holder. It looks pretty nice but it's expensive at almost the same cost as the controller. But easy phone attachment is hopefully worth it.
