Yep i resharpened the chef knife to use in my kitchen as a 'kicking around' knife because my family frequently tries to help clean and it ends up in the dishwasher. I would cry if it was my japanese made knives lol. It has held up surprisingly well for more than a year. The rest of them got put in the camp kit. The coating is shockingly durable, no chips and minimal scratches despite abuse.

This is in my car camping kitchen box and honestly they're totally fine, and for like a buck fifty per knife I'd call them "great".

had it before... these are flimsy.

I just use one good knife most of time.

I have a set that I've been using for little over 1 year. Great knives. Was initially worried that the knives would need frequent sharpening and/or the coating would chip. My knives still look brand new and have not needed sharpening yet. I'm an occasional cook that cooks for 1-4 people, so YMMV.

I purchased my set for $16. For $10, this seems like a great deal.

I'll be the third to say these are in my camp kit. They've lived in my RV for nearly a year and I just toss them in the dishwasher between trips.

In general dishwashers are hard on utensils and dishes, which is the same reason you don't want to wash nonstick in a dishwasher. On top of that, most quality knives are a high carbon steel or damascus, which rusts more readily in the dishwasher. Because that's not enough, many higher end knives will also have luxury handle materials that would deteriorate rapidly, like an ivory or walnut insert.

I personally have one very nice 8" knife only I'm allowed to use and hand wash, and a decent set stainless my MIL destoyed scrubbing with steel wool that I don't feel guilty dishwashing and then treating any rust on.

I'll throw my hat in the ring that these are great camp or first dorm/apartment knives.

These are 100% without a doubt the best $10 knife set you can buy. Had this set for about 3 1/2 years, used daily and always washed in the dish washer with absolutely no issues. They hold a decent edge and take a sharpening pretty well. Like someone else said, these make a good newly-wed's or recent grad gift.

Just curious, the paint/coloring is not a big deal ingested?

Good stainless knives will have invisible annealing finish applied, which makes them truly rustproof but it breaks down with caustic cleaners (any dishwasher detergent). After that, any little water deposits from drying will pit the metal leaving blemishes but worse, will make sharpening very difficult.
