This is a pretty lousy show. It's also currently free on demand on Pluto TV.

I liked the original Roseanne. I can't even tolerate this one as background noise.

It could be a decent enough show, but the writers can't help themselves from speed running through storylines and it just makes the show feel messy as a result. It feels like half the time they have absolutely nothing for some of the characters to do, so they'll just be awkwardly standing there in a scene or just get completely written out between episodes/seasons with little to no explanation. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf do their best with what they are given, Lecy Goranson runs circles around Sara Gilbert and would've been the better lead for the show.

Thank you for the actual constructive criticism of the show besides the usual low hanging fruit that the Bluesky crowd gravitates too. The writing on this show is atrocious, it's clear every single writer on this show is only a student of THE MESSAGE and nothing else.

I'm not sure what you mean by the bluesky crowd, since I've seen the same blanket criticisms about the series across all social media platforms. Even the complaints saying that the show was better with Roseanne are pretty generic, since even the initial reboot season with her wasn't written any better than The Connors and still had the same wink at the camera/on the nose social commentary that people will blindly criticize the re-reboot for. It's simply never been a well written show in any incarnation (aside from the original series of course) and I kind of can't wait for the series to finally end so people who don't even watch it will stop complaining about it.
