That is not true, and even if it was you are repeatedly thermo cycling it with each brew, once a day x how ever much tea you have.
They call it medical grade plastic, while it may not leach BPA there are other components to microplastics. I can tell you that I have other brewers that are similar and claim BPA free and after a few months, the plastic becomes more brittle, lose their shine, and become powdery to the touch.
I now brew in stainless steel, in glass vessels.

This is an incredible deal! Tiesta Tea is a high quality brand, I haven't had tea I didn't like from them. Those bottom-dispensing infusers are usually $20+ on their own. Nice find OP!

No, cause your water for tea isn't held at high enough heat for long enough, you'll be more at risk for microplastics if you stir the tea leaves like some do, with a metal fork or spoon, there either has to be something physical that knocks off tiny bits of plastic, or held at a high heat for quite awhile, but the plastic would likely melt if you did that. You'll be fine
