I think it's the Cuisinart CH-4DC Elite Collection 4-Cup Chopper they recommend

Got it last time it was on sale, not bad for a dedicated garlic mincer. I buy a giant bag of peel garlic from Costco then use this to mince, and transfer to a flat zip lock bag to freeze. Super convenient for future cooking just break out a piece and toss in the pan.

An excellent mini chopper/grinder. We have beat the hell out of the one we have but it keeps on working. It's my wife's favorite processor. I like that it can chop or grind (forward or reverse). I'd give the cordless one a whirl if I needed one. https://sellout.woot.com/offers/c...home_13_32

I don't know how good this one is, but a mini processor is one of the indispensable appliances in my kitchen. The big processor is great but it's inconvenient to grab out of the pantry. The small processor is so much more convenient. I cook at home and we rarely go out so my kitchen tools get used quite a bit.

I used to have this. It's great. Just upgraded and took this one into my old job, a kitchen, and left it there.

It can do most things if you have time and don't overfill.

Don't attempt to make nut butter in this or otherwise put much strain on the motor. It will die. Spend a bit more for something less fragile.

We have an older version of this mini processor and it doesn't look like much was changed other than cosmetics. We've had ours for about 15 years and even though the blade developed a small crack in plastic within a year, it hasn't affected performance at all. We've used it for baby food when our kid was little, for sauces, to grind nuts, and lately instead of grating carrots (either manually or with a big boy processor) I just chop them finely. This was indispensable when I had a dental surgery and got tired of applesauce and mashed potatoes. Bought it initially for baby food but have been using multiple times per week since. It goes into dishwasher too with no problems.

Highly recommend.

Good price but disposable quality. Here's an idea not for everyone: The footprint on the powerful vinatage DLC-8 is not much bigger. Seeing them everywhere these days free or cheap. Just took one home for free from craigslist, like new, no signs of use. Made in Japan with 35 year durability. 650 watt motor does not bog down no matter what you throw at it. 11 different Japanese steel discs available also free or cheap. Check your thrift store.

Trivia: The DLC-8 Plus sold new in 1987 for $250 in 1987 which is $699 today. Cuisinart offered a 3 year parts and labor warranty + 27 years on the motor labor incl.

What do people use a food processor for?
Compared to a nutribullet or magic bullet or ninja equivalent blender....

You may not need FP. It's all about what you eat and how many people you are cooking for.

Dough, Hummus, nut butters, salsa m guac, emulsions, Cole slaw. Shredding cheese which can also be easily done by hand. Chopping mixing without liquefying. A mini prep isn't a FP. It's only going to do light chopping as in chicken salad for example. FP is less in demand these days especially with the trend toward healthier less processed and paleo food Unless a large quantity of shredded or chopped is needed a good knife and the skill to use it get the job done.. A Vitamix with 32 oz jar is perfect for sauces and marinades. It can do some but not all grinding chopping tasks.
