Thank you that is much appreciated. This does look like a board to be avoided.

Could you elaborate on this statement a little bit?

Recently there have been deals like this for $350 but included 1TB free m2.SSD and 32GB DDR5. Those were the 7600X not the 9600X though but still. This deal is just "OK".

Works just fine I have one and as long as you update the BIOS aren't any memory issues....I have built 9 PCs with this same board and 0 issues...there is plenty of issues if you look them up, but pay very close attention to the date...once BIOS fixes came out then no biggie! Let me know if you have any specific questions. honestly the only thing I didn't like about the board is the io plate in the back it's very generic and aluminum kind of looks like a cheap motherboard but I can tell you based on the weight the quality of the transistors and the quality of the soldering job on the board that this is a fine board as long as you're not looking for PCIE5 and high speed ram aka 8000mhz you will be fine with a 9700x 7700x and many other CPUs it was fine just know a BIOS update is required before any 9000 series chips will work (as of last board I received on 3/17/25. hope this helps! 🙏

I wish there were B650E deals. That chipset sacrifices a lot less.

All the deals are for bad AM5 motherboards. I may as well go with AM4 for half this price since three don't bring PCIe 5.0 or USB 4. There's zero new features.

maybe not a great MB, but hard to beat the price. MC has the 9600x in a combo with an ASUS B650M and 16GB starting at $329.

For anyone still wondering what they are referring to the VRMs on the motherboard aren't the best. In Hardware Unboxed's testing it struggles to keep up with a 7950x and lead to some throttling but since that is a 170W processor and this is 65w processor I'm sure this will be fine. As long as you don't have plans to upgrade to a 16 core processor I wouldn't really worry about the VRMs on this board. Even a 9800x3D should be fine on this board. It's really only the dual CCD 12 and 16 core cpus where you might see some impact.
