This is also some oddball model of the River 3 Plus that has 268Wh instead of 286Wh. I'd avoid. The normal River 3 Plus was less than this price before. Not a good deal.

Be careful! This is for the lower wh model. The price is lower because this if for 269wh vs the standard model that is 286wh capacity.
Yuck. Good callout. I got the 'OG' R3 Plus @ $179 a while back & was wondering why it didn't show up in a "last purchased" banner on Amazon like usual.
Ecoflow needs to stop making these subtle variants of the same model without properly differentiating them. They did something similar with the Delta 3 line. They're probably just diversifying their supply chain and sourcing different battery cells for these slight variants, but it certainly muddies up their lineup & creates confusion.
It is just my theory that eco-flow has a "second factory" battery put out on sale. Or, there's a shortage of different manufacturers of batteries. The same story applies to the same series of products but with different capacity
Edit: It could be a "trade-in" to recycle renewed batteries. You have to have some basic knowledge of how capacity calculation works
Can the capacity of this be expanded with a 12v lithium battery? If so, what is the power limit as to what it can pull from the 12v battery? I've seen a few similar models where they have very low input from a 12v source.

You can use a xt60i to o ring terminal cable and it will provide maybe close to 200w to the solar port. the problem is to then charge the battery... this won't really charge a lifepo4 or lithium ion battery, which is really stupid. they should have a 25amp charger built in, for this model and at least 50amp in the delta series.

It can, through the XT60 input, but they're limited to ~12A input, so you'll only get ~150W off a single 12V LFP (unless you use a voltage booster or pair 2 LFPs in series for 24V).

This is a ridiculous take... you realise reputable 25A LFP chargers are nearly as expensive as this whole unit, right??? If they did this, they'd be much more expensive & people would complain about their price even more than they already do. They wouldn't sell well.
Ecoflow's got their alternator charger that enables reverse charging if you need it (not compatible with the River series, and yes, there are cheaper alternatives, but with less features & more hassle)

If you don't need right now Temu seems to occasionally have great deals on these. They recently had the 286wh version of this with the extra 286wh battery for $250

Are these comparable to your typical UPS? Whats the transfer time in ms? Are these Offline/Standby, Line-Interactive, or Online/Double-Conversion?
Thanks
