Some may care, some may not, but everyone should at least understand what they're buying, and what they do in the background…beyond and unrelated what the primary function of the tool is.
When was the last time anyone thought -- "Gee I need a battery voltage logger, but it would also be great if it helped me remember where I've driven, and where I parked my car over the past 70 days! And transmitted that information to Asia without explicitly asking!"

Looks like these will work with home assistant since they are rebranded BM6's devices. Ended up just getting 2 to test with.

A multimeter is not a load tester
The fact it's sending our sensitive data ANYWHERE is the issue. It's not like companies that are in the USA are any less evil with intent. We are the products, devices and software designed like this are the bait.
This may have some testing functionality, but the main purpose of having a battery monitor is the fact that it can actually log data over time. Would have been nice if I had this since I just had a battery fail in one of my vehicles. Since it is an EV, the onboard battery management will try to top off the 12v battery if the voltage drops too low even if the vehicle is off. Multimeter wasn't much help while it was in the vehicle thanks to the battery management continuously trying to charge it. It was only after I pulled the battery out and let it sit idle for several hours that I could finally see the voltage dropping off until it finally settled around 10.2 volts..
I've ordered two so I can keep track of the both of the 12v batteries in my vehicle. I replaced one so it should be good for a few years, but it would be nice to get a baseline with a new battery. The second battery wasn't replaced so I'm a bit worried that it may need to be replaced soon, but I don't want to spend additional money on it when the manufacturer should be buying the vehicle back at some point this year.
How does this thing log the data? Does the app ask for location permission?
Is there any use for this if your battery is relatively new?
For a more conventional approach, I purchased this device and am quite pleased with it. I check the battery condition in each vehicle on a monthly basis. it works well:
