Unfortunately it does NOT attach to the l-shaped desk of this collection which is also on clearance for $85... but the compatible desk is only $168 (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sauder.../872322677) and still a good price compared to what I paid a few years ago.

Unfortunately, that is not the compatible desk. That desk is 48" long and the hutch is 60" long. You need desk 427851 [sauder.com], which is on sale for $322 at Sauder.
Will let you guys know though, I decided to disregard the compatibility of this hutch with the 60" desk I bought. This hutch does weigh quite a bit, just make sure your desk can handle the weight and look for other ways to attach this hutch to your desk
It looks great on my Sauder "Foundry Road" desk. I had to use a bracket that did not come with the desk to attach it. Fits nearly perfectly on the 60"x30" edition of that desk.
I definitely recommend removing the hutch if/when you need to move the desk, regardless of desk compatibility.
