I'm sorry, but so have I. I don't trust that either of our experiences are relevant. I believe that the controller in the current generation are designed in a way that is far worse than any prior generation. So this kit is a good investment.
Meh, jam a toothpick in the crevices to clean out all the crud and cheeto dust and give it a good once-over with a wet wipe. Or play the most enraging game you have, rage slam or throw your controller and never have to worry about cleaning it again. 😆

Likely. But 98% won't be able to repair theirs and will have to buy another.....which is a perfect time to buy the extended warranty.

I recently repaired my son's xbox controller. It cost me $2. If I had purchased this kit , then the cost would have been about $6.
I have seven xbox controllers, one ps5, three ps4 etc etc. I've had to repair a couple.
No way buying a warranty for all of them, let alone one is saving money.
