Across Florida for a time (maybe still?) and several areas in California but for completely different reasons. Next question?

BTW, just screaming 'pRoVe It' (or the like) isn't the finishing move you think it is Wink

Several Southern have claimed it promoted "Supernatural Elements" by the bible thumpers. Also in states like California it has been removed from select small children library sections under the theory the "punishment" in the story could be construed as child abuse and there are some dark themes that have been argued to be 'psychologically damaging for young children.'

Not a widespread by any means I was just trying to point out even the most harmless of children's books can get (effectively) banned at any moment by any whim.

Next question? You still haven't answered his first question. Maybe try that first before asking for more questions you apparently can't answer.

Question: "Name one state or school district where it is banned."
Answer: "Across Florida for a time (maybe still?) and several areas in California but for completely different reasons. Next question?"

Or were you confused because I cites examples in two states?

Is it banned in all of Florida? "Hurr I dunno, maybe?" Yeah what an answer. "Several areas in California" is also a weird name for a school district. Can you link to that districts website?

LOL, just like PC Principal to start deflecting and to miss the entire point in some pedantic quest to prove he is right about something no one was actually talking about.

I never claimed "Several areas in California" was a "school district." Unless you'd care to quote me saying that? Otherwise I'm really sorry you misunderstood my very simple statement however that was a failure in your comprehension...I can't help you there.

And I never claimed "all of Florida" either. I said "across Florida." Not the same claim or statement. For example the statement "it is raining across Florida" doesn't mean that every square inch of Florida is receiving rain. (3...2...1.... someone is going to start nitpicking my analogy Big Grin because that is the best counter argument they can come up with)

I'll provide links when you provide direct quotes of me saying either of these statements you seem to be arguing with. Did I also kick your dog too?

"Maurice Sendak's picture book faced many opponents immediately after its publication in 1963. Readers believed Where the Wild Things Are was psychologically damaging and traumatizing to young children due to Max's inability to control his emotions and his punishment of being sent to bed without dinner. Psychologists called it "too dark", and the book was banned largely in the south. It has also been challenged several times for its images of witchcraft and supernatural elements."

Take a hike...

I think you are replying to the wrong person with that "take a hike" comment. My claim completely agrees with your quote.

No polluting a children's book thread with TDS.
Who said anything about Trump? LOL, someone jumps to conclusions quickly. Did I also kick your dog? Seems like a lot of people are blaming me for things I never said or even alluded to.

It must be awful having an orange boogeyman in your thoughts to think your skewed input is necessary.
See above, not everything is about (in your words, not mine) the "orange boogeyman." Especially in both of our examples of California. You are barking up the wrong tree with your projections of persecution.

It comes to the point where you shorten quotes and blame "bible thumpers" when it was "experts."
What quote did I "shorten?" Please "quote" me. Not to mention you cannot be an "expert" in a subjective opinion about a singular interpretation of a work of fiction. Are you also an expert in my favorite TV show? If I say Stargate is that also going to be "TDS" because you don't agree? Confused

Please for your own sanity - take a hike.
Please for your own sanity stop "polluting a children's book thread" with claims of attacks against a president only you mentioned.

Like I said before, Slickdeals is where the real wild things are LMAO2

This is a great deal. I can remember reading this book as a child and can't wait to read it with my children. A timeless classic that we almost lost in the 60s....
