This model, new sells for $1000 now. Canon refurbished goes down to $400 on Black Friday for this item, but it's almost never in stock. If you need a lens with such focal length, then this is a good deal for $600. Otherwise you can wait and try your luck around 4th of July. This will go out of stock any minute.

It is not a perfect lens, but you can't get focal length like this for comparable price.
