Running an Rtx 3080 and my Ryzen 7 5700x and motherboard just isn't cutting it anymore.

I usually buy a motherboard CPU combo about every 5 to 7 years and usually about halfway between upgrade my GPU depending on the market/quality of the current released gpu etc.

What are you doing exactly that your old combo doesn't cut it anymore?

Wait and see if they drop prices, I think that combo was just $500. All their combos have gone up $50-100 in the last few days.

CPU has been maxed when playing most recent games and it's so bad with cod that my keys aren't always reporting when a key is no longer depressed. First thing I did was swap out keyboards to make sure that wasn't the issue. Have played several other recent titles and don't have the same issue so half of it is probably the terrible game I'm deciding to play. (clocks are fine at idle so don't think I'm dealing with malware or too many background tasks)

It was $450 yesterday or the day before. Literally every bundle on their site went up, I have been shopping and all of them are up roughly $50-100+, Intel and AMD.

I've heard the 5900x is two 5600x processors, and that there is some drawback to this for some instances. Thought I'm not sure if this is accurate.

Is this also a bonded 6 core board?

This is also two separate 6 core CCD, there are drawbacks if you have applications reaching across another CCD for data but that was more of an issue with X3D variants.

It depends on your use case but for gaming it shouldn't really be a problem.

I just spot checked the AMD bundles from earlier this week vs. today. Depending on which bundle, some when up $30, some went up $50. I see nothing that went up $100. Internet Wayback machine has those pages all captured, over time.

Even the 5800x3d doesn't terribly bottleneck a 5090. A top of the line current gen cpu will last at least five years without showing a lot of age. You'll get even longer out of an x3d chip though.

I've notice a statement like this before. What makes the x3d series AMD so good if you have a discrete GPU card anyway?
