I went to Costco today, like I do every Saturday and Sunday morning ever since I got the membership off T Mobile and today, and they had a tent where they were giving out free tote bags if one applies to a Costco Visa card. YMMV

I know right? I was deciding to do it, but then I was like.."Well, I could see why." Kind of like a Costco membership offer. "We will give you a $30 digital Costco Card, but you have to pay into a membership and autopay. So they are not giving me a free trial, they are taking less than 50% off and if I forget to renew....

The rewards from just using the card to buy gas at Costco more than pays for my annual membership.

Yeah...., but if you really think about it, If you never bought the membership, would you even try to justify it? Lol. It is something that I always think about. Is it really a WANT or is it a NEED. I think because one has to get groceries anyway and they know they may out save a fee of some sort, then it is okay.

Similar thing with credit cards with annual fees. If you had one with an annual fee, you are justifying an expense, which really means you may not be saving anything because there is still a net loss from the fee. You are compensating. All my credit cards are no annual fee and so, there is nothing to justify because the cash back I am getting back is just a discount from the credit card (I am not really saving anything because I am using it).

I would not know. Haha. I wonder if they change the designs on their bags or if they just recycle ones that were never given out in the past? Also, I wonder if they have a merch store to where one can actually buy this.

I went to buy gas at Costco (filled it to about half tank because I want to use T Mobile's $0.20/gal this Tuesday (even though I am going to be paying $0.10 in gas.
So my current tally is $65 for the membership and $0.45 saved.
I have also bought ancient grains bag from Costco since the membership and their food court items (however, I do not consider those items to be saving anything).
