I used the Ace gift card deal from a few days ago to get $200 in gift cards for $160, then used that to buy the new multi head with edger combo. IOW for about $80 more than this deal I added the multi head.

I've been waiting for an ego edger deal for a long time. Wont be able to check my store until Tuesday though. Really hoping I can get the attachment for $81.97.

Do you need the newer multi-head unit (or want another), or just the edger attachment? You can do the kit with the newer head unit and carbon-pole edger attachment kit for $200, or just the carbon-pole edger for $150, using the Ace egifter gift cards deal. I only need the attachment. If I'm unable to stop by Lowes tomorrow, I'll probably just end up doing your method since it seems that promo expires tomorrow.

A good buy if you're lucky enough to find a Lowe's with this deal. All Lowe's near me have them in stock, but at the regular $149 price. Verified with the store manager that there is no directive to lower the price. In fact, he said "clearance? We just got the new carbon fiber attachments in stock finally."

This seems to be about the same thing as the Ryobi. Which is available via a hack at Home Depot. Final price is about $60 after canceling/returning the trimmer kit.
