Anyone else hate Chromebooks since unblock origin got neutered?
Yeah, that has pushed me to get out. But I have an extremely cheap Chromebook that doesn't have enough memory/storage to handle the probable solution: install the Brave browser on a Linux container.

The thing like I like about ChromeOS and Chromebooks is that you have pretty much everything you need to use 95% of the time and it's not resource hungry. 8GB on ChromeOS feels like enough for most of the tasks you'll ever perform. IF you run into a situation where you need to use a Windows exclusive program and you have another Windows PC, you can install Remmina using the Linux terminal and remote into your Windows PC. If you don't - you could always pay for a externally hosted Windows machine and connect to it or run a VM. Of course - you have to be somewhat tech-literate to do that.
I picked up this specific model for my daughter for school a few weeks ago. I have to admit I was on the fence about the lack of a backlit keyboard, but was very pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as much as issue as i feared. I was concerned the gray buttons w/white text would be hard to see, but I was wrong. Even w/my older eyes, it's very easy to discern what's what.
I would still prefer backlighting, and not sure why it wasn't included, but don't let that keep you from picking this up if everything else meets your needs.

I hated the way Windows updates worked then they lied that Windows 10 was forever coming out with 11.
So I only use Chromebooks.
