I've had really, really bad Craftsman torque wrenches. I like the Harbor Freight ones a lot more, especially the Icon torque wrenches. Wait for a 25% of one item coupon and get an Icon torque wrench instead of this junk. I've had bolts strip because the stupid Craftsman torque wrench wouldn't click.

I haven't had this particular problem, but if I was shopping for 3/8" torque wrenches, I wouldn't spend $47 on the Craftsman name brand. I'd either get a $25ish Taiwanese model or go ahead and get the split beam Icon. And if I was getting a $25 model, I'd also get a 1/2" digital torque adapter to double check it on a lug nut - the peace of mind is worth it.

I avoid using traditional clickers near their end ranges, and I've been running into situations where my 1/2" doesn't fit comfortably but I still need to get something close to the 100 ft-lb mark.

This performed reasonably well against $100+ torque wrenches on Project Farm's review [youtube.com] so for half price, it looks to be a great buy. I already have HF's one to skip this. For anyone looking to buy one 100+, look at the Icon from HF or DeWalt that performed very well in his review.

Which era of Craftsman? The name's been through so many manufacturers it's hard to pin down.

Comments are a sign of popularity, but sometimes people don't have a lot to say about a deal other than a thumbs up, so votes are the main factor that get a deal to the front page. Moving deals there artificially would be a waste of space that could be used for a deal that will get more love. (Disclaimer: there are a few deals on the front page marked as promoted)
