This is equivalent to wielding Thor's hammer. An uncle once told me with great power comes great responsibility. Oh, wait. Never mind. That was in Spider Man. Lol.

I call this out every time the high torque model gets posted...this is a big and heavy tool and the photos are a bit deceiving. Most people could be perfectly fine with a mid torque version unless they have needs for high torque applications (we're talking MUCH larger projects).

Or if they live in the rust belt. I have had to use the older 20v high torque a bunch of times were my 450lb wouldn't budge something rusted together 👍

If you need the high torque, the HD deal is the one to get. If you want the mid torque, that lowes offer is a good one. 8aH battery too (though I think it's their new "max" battery line and not the newer line that XR got replaced with. Still, should power through most work.

Wonder why they have been cutting the price on this so much lately... I believe this is the newest model.

Maybe its not selling well because of the incremental upgrade to the last 2 models in the 899 and 900? Those last 2 models probably cover 95% of most use cases.

Anyone hear of them having issues?

I got the M-18 2962+5Ah battery for $190 last time. it's pointless to talk about the old deal but $250 is to much if you just want to remove the car lug nuts. get the one from HF instead.

Wish I had one of these in my teens so I could have made some money changing all the anode rods in my neighborhood.

Is that too much torque to use on a water heater anode rod? Isn't mid torque impact wrench or driver do the trick of removing the anode rod?

Could the Lowe's DeWalt deal be hackable? But the tool plus the battery, and return the battery. Is Lowe's itemized their items like HD?

AFAIK Lowes does not itemize their items on free battery/tool deals like Depot. I believe they closed that loophole.
