For slickdealers from the US, you can get the same thing from Amazon for $10 more. Or the barebones option for $319...

This seems pretty reasonable. Compare it to a recent deal:

That's $53 more but has a slightly (?) better CPU. The GMKTec has Oculink too but who really is ever going to do an eGPU set up?

This thing only have 1 USB C (Data, Display, PD), which is bad. I hope it has 1 more USB C.

Isn't this pretty much the regular price?

I've been watching these a while. This is right in the normal range of 450-525 for the 8745…. Just have to sort for minor/brand differences.

It's not terrible, it's just in no way "slick"

Pre-tariff I was holding out for this spec for 375ish, but at this rate it's likely things go up before they go down, so maybe this will end up "slick" in a month or two anyway 🤷 ♂️

For one, someone looking to do AI work or run AI models locally.

Fair point, but if you look at some of the Chinese SSD NAS machines (basically mini PCs with 4 NVMe slots) they aren't too expensive. Also, you can find some cheap machines that can house 3.5" drives (example [amazon.com]).

And while minisforum products are awesome, the company is kinda notoriously bad when it comes to support/returns. The $10 for Amazon peace of mind is well worth imo

actually all of the smaller PC maker from China (MinisF, More Fine, GMK, Aoostar, Ugreen,... etc) are extremely bad when it comes to support. They make a product and sell some of them (or lots of them) and they simply don't make any update whatsoever and move on to newer product. That's how they keep the price low when it compares to like Dell, HP, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte.... That's not a big problem if you just use it as homelab, but if you want to "rely" on it, better think trice.

At least Minisforum releases lots of updates for bios. I think you probably repeating these from some others post without fact checking. I have mini PC from them which already received 3 bios updates. Their newer models and MoDT platforms like BD795i, has received 4 Bios updates within 1 year of release.

I prefer ordering from Amazon, quicker shipping and easier to return if you have any issues. One time I ordered from Minisforum direct it took weeks to show up.
